Connect your domain: DNS guides by provider
Two records (an A and a CNAME) at the company that holds your domain. Remo never asks for your password; you add them yourself, following the screens of your provider. Your account shows the same guide with your own domain and the exact values.
GoDaddy
godaddy.com → Sign In → My Products → All Products and Services → Domains → Manage → Domain Settings → DNS tab
1. Open your domain's DNS tab
Go to godaddy.com and sign in. Click My Products. Under All Products and Services expand Domains and click Manage next to yourbusiness.com (or open dcc.godaddy.com/control/portfolio and click yourbusiness.com). On the Domain Settings page click the DNS tab. Bought the domain from a company whose panel looks like GoDaddy's? Sign in there instead: the DNS screen is the same.2. Remove a connection, if there is one
Look above the records table. If you see Remove next to a name such as Squarespace, Wix or Instagram, click Remove, then Yes, let's do it!. A connection locks the A record; nothing else changes. No connection listed? Skip this step.3. Delete forwarding, if there is one
Still in DNS, click Forwarding. If your domain forwards somewhere, click the Delete icon next to it and confirm. Go back to DNS. Forwarding locks the A record for @, so this comes before editing it.4. Edit the A record for @
Find the row Type A, Name @ and click its Edit icon (the pencil). Replace Value with147.182.236.145. If the row shows a second value, or there is a second row Type A, Name @, remove the extra one so only 147.182.236.145 remains. Leave TTL. Click Save.5. Enter the code if GoDaddy asks for one
With Domain Protection, GoDaddy asks for a code on every Save and every Delete: type the SMS or authenticator code, or the one-time password sent to your account email, and continue. It can't be skipped.6. Point www with a CNAME
Find the row Name www. If its Type is CNAME: Edit, set Value tosites.remobuilds.com, Save. If its Type is A: tick it, click Delete, then Delete Records; then click Add New Record: Type CNAME, Namewww, Valuesites.remobuilds.com, Save.7. Leave every other row alone
Do not change MX, TXT, mail, autodiscover or NS rows, and do not open Nameservers. Your email keeps working. Is there a row Type A, Name mail? Keep it.8. Come back and check
Press Check my domain here. Most GoDaddy changes take effect within an hour; GoDaddy says up to 48 hours worldwide. I re-check every 30 seconds while you're on this page.
Watch out
- Never delete or edit MX or TXT rows: that is your email. Leave an A row named mail alone too.
- Don't ADD a second A record for @: EDIT the existing one. Two A records for @ means the old site keeps showing half the time.
- Forwarding and a connection (Squarespace, Wix, Instagram…) lock the A record: remove them first, then edit.
- GoDaddy's own Website Builder leaves two A records for @ (13.248.243.5 and 76.223.105.230), sometimes shown as one row with two values: keep only the new address.
- GoDaddy refuses a CNAME whose Name is already used by another record: delete the A record for www before adding the CNAME.
- If the DNS tab says your nameservers are not GoDaddy's, your records live somewhere else (often Cloudflare or your hosting): edit them there and never change the nameservers here.
- A record that won't delete: check Forwarding and any Website Security product first.
There's a 'Parked' A record for @
That's the one to edit: GoDaddy's parking addresses are 3.33.130.190 and 15.197.148.33. Change its Value to the new address.
I bought the domain from another company but the screen looks like GoDaddy's
It's a GoDaddy reseller store: sign in there, open Domain Portfolio → your domain → DNS. The steps are the same.
GoDaddy asks for a code at every step
That's Domain Protection: enter the SMS, authenticator or email code each time. It can't be turned off for this.
The DNS tab is missing, or it says the nameservers aren't GoDaddy's
Tell me in the chat which nameservers it shows: your records live at that company and I'll switch the steps.
