Connect your domain: DNS guides by provider
Two records (an A and a CNAME) at the company that holds your domain. Remo never asks for your password; you add them yourself, following the screens of your provider. Your account shows the same guide with your own domain and the exact values.
HostGator
portal.hostgator.com → Domains → your domain → DNS tab → Manage Advanced DNS Records
1. Open your domain
Go to portal.hostgator.com and sign in. Click Domains, then yourbusiness.com.2. Open the DNS records
Click the DNS tab → Manage Advanced DNS Records (on some accounts: Advanced Tools → Manage next to Advanced DNS Records → Continue).3. Edit the A record for @
On the A record for your bare domain (@): click ⋯ → Edit → Points to147.182.236.145→ Edit to save. A second A row for @? ⋯ → Delete → Delete.4. Point www with a CNAME
If www has an A record: ⋯ → Delete → Delete. Then + Add Record → Single record → Type CNAME → Hostwww→ Points tosites.remobuilds.com→ Add. The field names may differ slightly: the values are what matter.5. Come back and check
Leave the Nameservers tab alone. Press Check my domain here: HostGator says 0 to 4 hours.
Watch out
- Never delete or edit MX or TXT rows: that is your email. Leave an A row named mail alone too.
- If the domain is registered elsewhere but uses HostGator's nameservers, the records live in cPanel: Domains → Zone Editor → Manage → Edit the A record → Save Record; + Add Record → CNAME www.
- HostGator registers domains through Network Solutions (since 2023), Launchpad or eNom: the domain still shows in this portal.
- If the nameservers aren't HostGator's, the portal's DNS zone changes nothing: tell me in the chat.
- Email on the same HostGator server keeps working: the MX row and the mail row stay. In your mail app use the server name (gatorNNNN.hostgator.com), not the domain.
My domain isn't in the portal
It may be registered elsewhere (your renewal email says who). Its DNS still lives here if the nameservers are HostGator's: use cPanel → Zone Editor.
I see Zone Editor, not a DNS tab
That's cPanel: Manage next to the domain, Edit the A record to the new address, Save Record; + Add Record → CNAME www → the new target.
