Connect your domain: DNS guides by provider
Two records (an A and a CNAME) at the company that holds your domain. Remo never asks for your password; you add them yourself, following the screens of your provider. Your account shows the same guide with your own domain and the exact values.
Name.com
name.com → My Domains → your domain → Manage DNS Records
1. Open the DNS records
Sign in at name.com → My Domains → yourbusiness.com → Manage DNS Records. A WARNING! banner means your DNS isn't at Name.com: tell me in the chat.2. Set the A record
Row Type A with an empty Host: change the Answer to147.182.236.145(edit control at the right of the row). None? Type A, Host blank, Answer147.182.236.145, TTL 300, Add Record.3. Point www with a CNAME
Delete any row Host www of Type A. Then Type CNAME, Hostwww, Answersites.remobuilds.com, Add Record. Never leave Host blank on a CNAME.4. Remove URL forwarding, if any
If yourbusiness.com was forwarding: user icon → Account → Account Tools → Forwarding Tools → Show all URL Forwards → Delete; then delete any leftover A record to an address you don't recognize or showing redirector.name.tools.5. Come back and check
Leave MX, TXT and mail rows. Press Check my domain here: Name.com says within 24 hours.
Watch out
- Never delete or edit MX or TXT rows: that is your email. Leave an A row named mail alone too.
- Host is blank for the root (Name.com doesn't use @).
- URL forwarding leaves an A record behind: delete the forward first, then the record.
- DNS templates overwrite the whole zone: don't apply one.
There's a WARNING! banner on the DNS page
Your nameservers point elsewhere: the records live at that company. Tell me the names it shows.
