Connect your domain: DNS guides by provider
Two records (an A and a CNAME) at the company that holds your domain. Remo never asks for your password; you add them yourself, following the screens of your provider. Your account shows the same guide with your own domain and the exact values.
Network Solutions
networksolutions.com → Log In → Domains → your domain → Advanced Tools → Advanced DNS Records → Manage
1. Sign in at Network Solutions
Go to networksolutions.com and click Log In. Register.com customers: same page, and for most of you the username and password are unchanged. We only change two records: never touch the nameservers and never click Revert to Defaults (that disconnects any email or website you keep elsewhere).2. Open your domain
Click Domains in the left menu. Open yourbusiness.com: click its name, or the ⋮ under Actions → Manage, or Settings, depending on the view you see.3. Open Advanced DNS Records
Scroll down to Advanced Tools. Click Manage next to Advanced DNS Records.4. Edit the A record for @
Find the row Type A, host @. Click its pencil icon. In Points to, delete the old address and type147.182.236.145. Leave TTL as it is. Click Edit to save. Do not add a second A record for @: edit the one that is there.5. Point www at the new site
Look for a row with host www. If it is a CNAME: pencil → set Alias tosites.remobuilds.com→ Edit. If it is an A record: pencil → set Points to147.182.236.145→ Edit. If there is no www row: + Add Record → Type CNAME → Refers towww→ Alias tosites.remobuilds.com→ Add.6. Remove Web Forwarding, if you have it
Back on the domain page, under Advanced Tools look for Web Forwarding. It is a paid add-on, so most accounts have none. If a forward for yourbusiness.com is listed: click its pencil → Delete (upper right) → tick the confirmation box → Delete.7. Come back and check
Press Check my domain here. Network Solutions says record changes take up to 2 hours; removing a forward, 4 to 6 hours.
Watch out
- Never delete or edit MX or TXT rows: that is your email. Leave an A row named mail alone too.
- Never change the nameservers and never click Revert to Defaults: both disconnect email or websites you keep elsewhere.
- Do not ADD a second A record for @: EDIT the one that is there. Two A records for @ means the old site keeps showing half the time.
- Never delete or edit MX or TXT rows: that is your email.
- If two hours later the A record went back to the old value, a Domain Connection put it back: on the domain page open Domain Connections, Unassign the website connection, then set the A record again.
- Web.com customers have a different console (support.web.com): Domains → manage → Advanced Settings → DNS Records → Edit → tick the box → Save Changes.
I see Classic View instead
Click Classic View → EDIT A RECORDS → change the Numeric IP next to @ (and next to www, if there is one) to the new address above → Continue → Save Changes. For www as an alias: EDIT CNAME RECORDS → www → the CNAME value above → Continue → Save Changes.
The Advanced DNS Records page is missing (only Nameservers, or a notice that the nameservers are not Network Solutions')
Your records live somewhere else. Tell me in the chat which nameservers it shows; do not change them.
I bought the domain at Register.com
Register.com accounts moved to networksolutions.com: same login page and, for most customers, the same username and password.
Which view am I in?
The new view has a pencil on each row and a + Add Record button; Classic View has EDIT A RECORDS buttons. Both work: tell me which one you see.
