Connect your domain: DNS guides by provider
Two records (an A and a CNAME) at the company that holds your domain. Remo never asks for your password; you add them yourself, following the screens of your provider. Your account shows the same guide with your own domain and the exact values.
Square
squareup.com (Square Dashboard) → Channels → Domains → Manage → Manage domain → DNS Records
1. Open your domain
Sign in at squareup.com (Square Dashboard). Channels → Domains. Under yourbusiness.com select Manage, then Manage domain.2. Edit the A record
Under DNS Records find the A record for @. Edit. Points to147.182.236.145. Save.3. Point www with a CNAME
Find the www record. If it's an A record, Edit and delete it. Add DNS record: Type CNAME, Hostwww, Points tosites.remobuilds.com. Save.4. Disconnect the Square site
Under Destination choose Edit site destination, then Disconnect from my current site. Save, then Done. Don't touch MX Records, TXT records or Edit nameserver.5. Come back and check
Press Check my domain here: Square says 24-48 hours. Don't reconnect the domain in Square afterwards: its automatic connection rewrites the records back to Square.
Watch out
- Never delete or edit MX or TXT rows: that is your email. Leave an A row named mail alone too.
- Edit nameserver takes your site and your email offline: never.
- Square's automatic 'Connect' rewrites the records towards Square: don't go back into it after pointing.
- Domains bought at Square are registered through Register.com: that's normal; the records live here.
I bought the domain somewhere else
Then its records live at that registrar, not in Square: tell me which company and I'll switch the steps.
