CONNECT YOUR DOMAIN

Connect your domain: DNS guides by provider

Two records (an A and a CNAME) at the company that holds your domain. Remo never asks for your password; you add them yourself, following the screens of your provider. Your account shows the same guide with your own domain and the exact values.

Wix

wix.com → account icon → Account Settings → Domains → Domain Actions → Manage DNS Records

  1. 1. Open your Domains page

Go to wix.com and sign in. Click your account icon at the top right, then Account Settings, then Domains in the left menu (direct link: manage.wix.com/account/domains).

  2. 2. Open Manage DNS Records

Find yourbusiness.com and click the Domain Actions icon next to it, then Manage DNS Records. Don't see that option? Your domain is connected by pointing: its DNS lives at your domain host, not at Wix. Tell me in the chat which company that is and I'll switch the steps.

  3. 3. Edit the A record

Scroll to A (Host). Hover over the A record that shows your domain in the Host Name column and click Edit. Click Got it in the pop-up. Leave Host Name blank (blank is Wix's '@'). In Value replace the IP with 147.182.236.145. Click Save, then Save Changes in the pop-up.

  4. 4. Delete a second A record, if any

If another A record with a blank Host Name is still listed, delete it: click the icon next to that record (More Actions) → Delete → Delete Record. Don't delete A records that have a host name such as mail.

  5. 5. Edit the www CNAME

Scroll to CNAME (Aliases). Hover over the record with Host Name www (its Value looks like cdn1.wixdns.net) and click Edit. Got it. Keep Host Name as www. In Value type sites.remobuilds.com. Save, then Save Changes. No www record to edit? + Add Record in CNAME (Aliases): Host Name www, Value sites.remobuilds.com, Save, Save Changes. If Wix answers 'Hostname already in use', delete the old www record first.

  6. 6. Come back and check

Leave TTL as it is; don't touch MX, TXT or SRV records and don't open Edit MX Records. Press Check my domain here. Wix says changes can take up to 48 hours. Keep your domain subscription active in Wix; once the check says live you may cancel the Wix SITE plan (Premium Subscriptions → More Actions → Cancel Plan → Cancel Now). Never choose Cancel domain.

Watch out

I don't see Manage DNS Records

Your domain is connected by pointing: the records live at your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap…). Tell me which one and I'll give you those screens.

Wix says Hostname already in use

Delete the old www record first, then add the new one; or edit the existing one instead of adding.

The Domain Assistant says my records are wrong

It wants Wix's own values back. Ignore it: the records you set are the right ones for your new site.
