UPLOAD YOUR SITE

Upload your site: guides by host

The site you own is one flat zip: index.html at the top, one CSS file, your photos. These are the screens of each host; your account shows the same steps with your own file names.

a web host you choose

your current website builder takes no folder of files; the files go to a regular web host (or keep the hosted plan)

  1. 1. Know where you stand

Your current site runs on a website builder that doesn't accept a folder of files, so you'd need a regular web host for them (I'll tell you which), or keep the hosted plan, which works as is.

  2. 2. Option A · The hosted plan instead

The hosted plan works with your current website builder as is: Remo hosts the site and you point your domain at it with two records in the domain panel at your current website builder (or at your domain company), click by click. Your purchase is the files, not that plan: to switch, write to hello@remobuilds.com and a person answers. Cancel only the SITE plan at your current website builder once your domain shows the new site; never the domain or the email subscription.

  3. 3. Option B · A regular web host for the files

Any web host with a File Manager (cPanel, hPanel, Plesk) takes the folder. I have click-by-click steps for Namecheap, Hostinger, Bluehost, HostGator, SiteGround, DreamHost, hosting.com, GoDaddy, IONOS, Porkbun or Name.com: open one, upload the zip there, then point yourbusiness.com at it with the records that host gives you. Tell me which one you pick and these steps change to its screens.

  4. 4. Option C · Move the domain (last resort)

Transferring yourbusiness.com away from your current website builder is slow (up to 7 days, 60-day locks) and can break a business email tied to it. Do it only after the new site is live, never first.

  5. 5. Option D · Leave your current website builder last

Whatever you choose: cancel the site plan at your current website builder only after https://yourbusiness.com shows the new site, keep the domain, and keep your email where it is.
