Upload your site: guides by host
The site you own is one flat zip: index.html at the top, one CSS file, your photos. These are the screens of each host; your account shows the same steps with your own file names.
your web host (Cloudflare is not it)
Cloudflare runs your DNS only; the files go to the company that hosts the site, or to Cloudflare Pages (free)
1. Know where your site really lives
Cloudflare is not your hosting: it answers your domain's DNS. The files go to the company that hosts your current site (sign in where you pay for hosting: File Manager or cPanel, then the generic steps), or to Cloudflare Pages, free, below. Not sure who hosts it? Ask me who hosts me in the chat.2. Pages: create the project
Unzipyourbusiness-remo.zipinto a folder on your computer. Go to dash.cloudflare.com, click Workers & Pages → Create application → the Pages tab → Upload assets (Drag and drop your files). Type a project name (it becomes yourname.pages.dev).3. Pages: drag the folder and deploy
Drag the unzipped folder (not the zip) into the upload box: index.html must be at its top level, and it is. Click Deploy site, then Save and Deploy. Open the yourname.pages.dev link and check the site.4. Pages: your domain
In the project click Custom domains → Set up a domain →yourbusiness.com→ Continue; Cloudflare adds the DNS record for you once you confirm. Repeat forwww.yourbusiness.com. HTTPS is automatic.5. Open your site
Open https://yourbusiness.com in a private window and click a few menu links. If the old site still shows, press Ctrl+F5; if it still does, an oldindex.phporindex.htmis left in public_html (previous step).6. Back up the old site, keep your email
Cloudflare has no copy of your old site: back up at your old host before canceling anything (Compress → Download there). MX records are untouched by Pages; if your email pointed at your old host's IP, do the email step first (ask me).
Watch out
- The zip is flat: extract it IN the web folder and index.html lands at the root. If your panel created a folder with the site inside, open it, select all, Move to the web folder.
- An old index.php, index.htm or default.html left next to index.html wins: move it into old-site.
- Show Hidden Files before moving anything: a WordPress .htaccess left behind sends visitors to the old index.php.
- old-site belongs OUTSIDE the web folder (your home folder). Inside it, an old WordPress stays public and runnable.
- Never delete the old files: Compress → Download first, then Move. Moving them back undoes everything.
- Your email does not live in these folders; nothing here touches it. Do not cancel the old hosting if your email runs there (ask me).
- Pages replaces the whole site on every upload: upload the complete folder each time.
- If a custom domain already has an A record, Cloudflare asks before replacing it [NV].
Can I just upload to Cloudflare like a host?
Only through Pages (above). Cloudflare's DNS page has no file manager.
